We have received reports of customers being contacted by telephone and the caller is telling them that their security system will be shut down for "a couple of days."
We believe the next step will be a visit to the customer's home or business with a story about there being a technical problem with the alarm system.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THESE TELEPHONE CALLS ARE NOT ORIGINATING FROM OUR OFFICE. YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM WILL NOT BE SHUT DOWN!
We believe that this is a fraudulent attempt to gain access to your security system to change your service over to another provider.
Please also be aware that all customer contact employees of Damar Security Systems carry company issued identification cards. You are encouraged to call our office at 519-336-7111 or toll free at 877-263-2627 to verify an employee's identity. All service technicians wear company issued uniforms clearly showing the Damar Security Systems' logo and they will have a vehicle displaying, as a minimum, the Damar Security Systems' logo. The absence of a uniform, identification card or vehicle is a very clear warning sign that something is not right. You may wish to contact the police also.
If you receive a telephone call regarding shutting down your security system please notify us as soon as possible.
